Israeli site Geektime reports that Waze is finally testing lane guidance in the region. It works quite similarly to the feature found in Google Maps. But unlike the latter’s implementation, where they just show up, there’s a nice animation going on to make it obvious, diverting your attention there.

The guidance will only appear at set distances away from a junction, though. This is set at 500m before a junction in city roads, and 1km on highways. Unfortunately, it doesn’t looks like there will be any lane guidance for roundabouts just yet. Lane guidance will begin rolling out on the Waze beta channel in Israel in the coming days. For now, there’s no word on when the feature will be released to the international public. Here’s hoping that the feature makes it to the general public at the end of the Movement Control Order (MCO). (Source: Geektime via XDA)
