According to a press release by HBO, the network is releasing the show’s complete first season for free as “an extension of the network’s content offering highlighting Black experiences, voices and storytellers”. Also worth noting that the move also coincides with Juneteenth (19 June), a day celebrating the end of slavery in the US back in 1865.

— Watchmen (@watchmen) June 18, 2020 The Watchmen TV show stars Regina King, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Jeremy Irons, and many other talented stars as familiar and new characters from the franchise. Besides focusing on the darker side of the superhero genre, the show also touches on racial issues in America throughout various eras. As mentioned earlier, HBO will make the show’s first season available to watch on its US website for anyone, including non-subscribers from across the globe. Do keep note that the site will require you to provide your email address and date of birth prior to watching. This is a great opportunity for viewers to check out the show if they missed out on it, or are not subscribed to the network. (Source: HBO US via CNET)
