Matt West, who is the game’s producer, says that it is still very early in development. He also confirmed that it will not be an open-world game, so as to stick to the formula of the original. It will be made with the publisher’s Snowdrop engine, the engine powering both The Division entries, and the upcoming Ubisoft Star Wars title.

That being said, with the publisher’s recent – and a little late – obsession with NFTs, there’s a chance that some of that would be shoehorned in the way it was with Ghost Recon: Breakpoint. But let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. As mentioned, the remake of the original Splinter Cell is in its very early stages of development.
