This will be the first thing users in Malaysia see, before the actual results of their search. Following it is a link to the Ministry of Health’s Twitter account, if you’d rather reach out that way. The same applies to when users search for the term “suicide”. At the very top of the search results is a link to Befrienders KL. This is followed by the Twitter account of Befrienders KL.
This is part of Twitter’s #KnowTheFacts efforts in making sure people get correct information when searching on the platform. These have been announced back in May, but did not make its way to our shores immediately. It looks like they started becoming available in South East Asia starting 20 December, according to a Twitter blog post. Specifically on the vaccine bit, the social media platform has partnered with the Health Ministries of countries in the region. All in all, this is good news, as it’s at least one more effort to stop the spread of misinformation and preventable diseases. (Source: Twitter via Amanz)
