The device in question is officially called the SoundBeamer 1.0 and like its name, the technology Noveto has developed is called Sound Beaming. Specifically, Noveto’s technology works to create a “personal sound bubble” around an individuals head that enables users to hear 3D audio within the immediate vicinity of their head, all without the need of a pair of headphones. Noveto says this is possible, thanks to a device’s sensing module that locates and tracks a user’s ear position and creating sound pockets that then send ultrasonic soundwaves directly to their heads. Even more impressive is that the bubble can either track a person’s head of simply have it stay in a specific space. Additionally, the SoundBeamer 1.0 will also be available in stereo or 360° spatial 3D Mode. For now, Noveto says it plans on having the SoundBeamer 1.0 becoming available to the masses by Christmas 2021, although it did not say how much it would cost. Considering that it is new technology, it wouldn’t surprise us if the company were to initially sell it at a premium. (Source: AP, Stereogum)
