Seeing that the company unveiled the Mk III of the Xperia 1, 5 (shown above) and 10 models earlier this year, it may be too early for it to announce the fourth generation of its flagship series. But then again, we could be wrong. While not unlikely, it could also be possible that Sony might introduce a new variant that is based on the aforementioned models.

— Sony | Xperia (@sonyxperia) October 12, 2021 On that note, there’s speculation that the company may be announcing the global version of the Xperia 10 III Lite, a smartphone that was launched exclusively in Japan back in August. However, it is very unlikely for Sony to build up so much hype for a mid-range handset, especially given the fact that it barely received any fanfare when it was released in the company’s home turf. Then there’s also the possibility of a sequel to the Xperia Pro, which is basically a more premium variant of the Sony Xperia 1 II that is designed for content creators. The mysterious nature of this new Xperia product has indeed intrigued both the media and fans alike. Some are hoping that Sony would reintroduce a Compact Xperia, while several others are expecting the company to surprise everyone with a new smartwatch or even a tablet. One thing’s for sure, we’ll only find out during the virtual announcement which will be hosted on the official Sony Xperia YouTube channel on 26 October at 11am local time.
