Other specifications of the WI-1000XM3 include Sony’s Sense Engine that adaptively adjusts the device’s noise-cancelling function, based on the user’s surrounding. As you would expect, the earphones come with Digital Sound Enhancement Engine HX (DSEE HX) that upscales compressed music files to as close to quality on par with Hi-Res Audio. Sony’s also made some adjustments to the design of the WI-1000XM2s neckband; it’s now made of silicone, which provides greater flexibility and increases user comfort. It’s also comparably lighter to its predecessor, weighing in at an approximate 58g.
In terms of usability, the WI-1000XM2 has a battery life of 10 hours of continuous use. It also comes with quick-charging support similar to its WH-1000XM3. In the case of these earphones, 10 minutes of charging gives the WI-1000XM2 80 minutes of playtime. Also like its predecessor, the earphones are also equipped with a microphone for hands-free calls as well as the magnetic earbuds which snap on together, avoiding tangles. A carrying pouch will also be included in the packaging.
The Sony WI-1000MX2 earphones are slated for availability sometime during January 2020. The audio accessory will be available in two colours, black and silver. At the time of writing, Sony did not specify local availability or pricing.
