One of them is a new S Pen that is equipped with wireless charging capability. According to Samsung, the S Pen is able to deliver up to 10 hours of operational time with just 10 minutes of charge time. Users don’t need a separate wireless charger to charge it though as the S Pen can be charged directly on the Galaxy Tab S6 itself when it is magnetically attached on the rear side of the tablet.
At the same time, the Bluetooth-equipped stylus can also be used as a presentation controller and camera trigger just like the S Pen for Galaxy Note 9. Users are also apparently able to remotely control video playback and other yet-to-be-revealed functions through a gesture-based feature that Samsung called S Pen Air actions. Other than that, the Galaxy Tab S6 also comes with a dual rear camera which features a 13MP wide-angle f/2.0 main snapper alongside a 5MP ultra-wide f/2.2 camera. There is also an 8MP selfie camera on the front part of the tablet.
Samsung has also included an on-screen fingerprint scanner for Galaxy Tab S6 which is the first tablet from the company to offer that feature. Just like Galaxy Tab S4, the new tablet also comes with built-in Samsung DeX mode that provides it with PC-like desktop environment. That experience can be enhanced even further through the optional BookCover Keyboard accessory for the tablet which includes not only a keyboard but also touchpad and dedicated DeX button. The BookCover Keyboard also comes with a free angle stand and S Pen holder.
A 7040mAh battery which able to provide the 420 grams tablet with a video playback time of up to 15 hours completes its general specifications. To be available starting from late August, the Galaxy Tab S6 with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage goes for USD 649 (about RM 2,675) while the model with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage is priced at USD 729 (about RM 3,004).
