Confirming details from prior leaks, Samsung has now confirmed that the standard Galaxy Watch5 will come in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm, with three colour options for each. These are all encased in what the company calls Armour Aluminium, and will come with a basic sports band. As for the Pro model, this only comes in 45mm, with colour options being Black Titanium and Grey Titanium. It also comes with the magnetic D-Buckle. Going into the spec sheet, we’re looking at smartwatches powered by an Exynos W920 chipset, with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space. For their Super AMOLED displays, the 40mm model Samsung Galaxy Watch5 comes with a 1.2-inch 396 x 396 display. The larger 44mm model and the Pro model shares the 1.4-inch 450 x 450 display. Powering the watches are 284mAh, 410mAh and 590mAh batteries for the 40mm, 44mm and Pro models, respectively. All models of the Samsung Galaxy Watch5 come with the company’s BioActive Sensor, which combines an optical hear rate sensor with a bioelectrical impedance analyser. Other sensors packed inside include an accelerometer, a barometer, a gyro sensor, a light sensor and a geomagnetic sensor, or a magnetic compass, if you will. All these are packed inside a shell that comes with IP68 and MIL-STD-810H ratings, as well as a 5ATM rating which means that you can swim with it on. The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 has a starting price of RM1099, while the Pro model will be priced at RM1899, with pre-orders starting today and lasting until 1 September. And on that note, if you do intend to place a pre-order for either the Galaxy Watch5 or the Galaxy Watch5 Pro, you can use the promo code LWGZF4VIP to also get yourself a 15W PD Power Adapter worth RM59 thrown in for free.
