To start, we have confirmation that the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 will indeed have active noise cancelling (ANC). One of the earlier reports on the TWS buds mentioned that it will not have this feature, which was confusing to say the least. At any rate, the feature being present is certainly good news.
Then there’s the other end of the spectrum, which is ambient noise. For this, there are three levels, which is great. Samsung says that the Galaxy Buds2 makes use of machine learning, three mics and a voice pickup unit for this. A previous leak of the Samsung Galaxy Buds2 also revealed the battery capacity for the buds themselves as well as their charging case. Now, the company has also provided a more relatable form of that information – play time. With ANC on, Samsung says that the Buds2 can go for five hours. The case brings the total up to 20 hours. It gets better, obviously, when ANC is off, going up to 7.5 hours and 29 hours, respectively.
And finally, Samsung gives the Galaxy Buds2 some added convenience by giving the companion app a PC version. You can now configure and change the settings of the TWS buds via PC. This ranges from things like noise controls and the equaliser. You can also update the buds’ firmware from there. For now, Samsung has revealed four official colours for the Galaxy Buds2, which are charcoal, white, lavender and olive. The yellow version that we saw before doesn’t seem to be part of the launch lineup. It’s priced at US$149.99 (~RM636). No word on when it will be available here, and what the price will be when that happens, just yet.
