As its description suggests, the TV features a maximum resolution of 7680 x 4320 pixels, and like all devices, it comes loaded with many visually enhancing features. For starters, the new TV comes with an upgraded Ultra Viewing angle technology. To put that into laymen terms, the technology basically allows users to view the TVs at any angle and without the worry of glare and light reflections diminishing the viewing experience. The Q950 is also fitted with Samsung’s Direct Full Array models, giving it more precise brightness control. And allowing each LED behind the display panel to be adjusted in order to create a deeper level of black.
Like its predecessors, Samsung has also ensured that its Q950 carries support for the HDR10+ standard. Thus providing further control over the contrast levels, making bright scenes brighter, and dark scene darker. The TV also comes with Samsung’s Ambient Mode. The feature first came to light last year, allowing users to transform the TV into a living canvas by either letting the TV display photos of your choice, or by simply allowing it to mimic the texture of the wall behind it. The Q950 will also feature support for Bixby, but more importantly, Samsung has open up support for other digital voice assistants, such as Alexa and Google Assistant. Of course, with Bixby, the TV can act as a hub for other Samsung appliances and electronics, allowing users to directly control them via the Samsung Smart Things feature that we saw last year. Oh, and before we forget, it also comes with support for Apple AirPlay 2 as well.
The Samsung Q950 is slated to arrive in stores sometime in April. At the time of writing, no local pricing or availability was mentioned for the TV.
