So what exactly is different now, compared to the initial design of the Samsung Galaxy Fold? For starters, the protective film is impossible to peel of by hand. It wraps around the entire display and flow into the outer bezels.
You may remember that some of the early Galaxy Fold review units had issues even when the protective film wasn’t peeled off. This involved the hinge, and according to Bloomberg’s sources, it has also been redesigned. Now it’s flush with the display, and it increases the tension on the protective film, making it feel more like something that shouldn’t be peeled off. Bloomberg also reports that Samsung has begun shipping components for the Galaxy Fold for assembly. That said, sources say that the company has yet to decide on a launch date.
