According to Videocardz, NVIDIA also plans on announcing not one but two new GPUs on 31 May: the RTX 3080 Ti and RTX 3070 Ti. Both cards will then launch in June, with product reviews for them set at different dates; reviews for the RTX 3080 Ti will allegedly be out on 2 June, while reviews for the RTX 3070 Ti will come out later on 9 June. While the internet is awash with rumours and speculations about the RTX 3080 Ti, details about the RTX 3070 Ti are still far and few between, although it is obvious that both cards will be running on NVIDIA’s Ampere GPU architecture. To quickly recap on the RTX 3080 Ti, the card is expected to be fitted with the brand’s GA102-225 GPU and have 10240 CUDA core, which is nearly as many as the RTX 3090.
Additionally, the card will feature 2GB GDDR6X than the RTX 3080, bringing the total amount of graphics memory on the RTX 3080 Ti up to 12GB GDDRX. As for the RTX 3070 Ti, Videocardz says that the card will run on the GA104-400 GPU, have 6144 CUDA cores, and surprisingly, run on 8GB of GDDR6X memory. Instead of the same GDDR6 graphics memory used on the original RTX 3070. On paper, a switch from GDDR6 to GDDR6X would give the RTX 3070 Ti a bandwidth boost of 160GB/s.
At the time of writing, there is obviously still no official word from NVIDIA about either card nor has it confirmed the announcement and launch dates. As such, take this news with a grain of salt. (Source: Overclocking.com, Videocardz)
