The Nintendo Switch Lite is a handheld-exclusive device. You can’t connect it to a TV, nor can you take out the Joy-Cons. Of course, the non-detachable Joy-Cons will affect games that make use of them, most notably the mini-games of 1-2 Switch. The HD rumble and IR Motion Camera are also gone, as it was part of the detachable Joy-Con. That said, all of the Nintendo Switch accessories will still be compatible with the Nintendo Switch Lite. There will also be no performance difference between them. In addition, there will also be a small number of improvements on the Lite. To start, it’s both lighter and smaller. There is now a proper d-pad rather than individual directional buttons. The display is also slightly smaller, measuring in at 5.5-inches while still keeping the 720p resolution.
As mentioned earlier, the Nintendo Switch Lite will be available on 20 September. It will also come with a USD199.99 (~RM828) price tag. There’s also a Pokémon version that will be out on 8 November, which is likely also the launch date for Pokémon Sword and Shield. (Source: Nintendo, The Verge)
