The rumour comes by way of 9to5Google, whose sources say that the notebook will a return to a more “tried-and-true Chromebook” and will include physical features from older Pixelbooks. Including a 2-in-1 form factor and Pixelbook Pen compatibility, to name a few. Additionally, the rumours also hint at the Pixelbook Go sporting a 13.3-inch touch display, with an option of either Full HD or 4K resolutions. Users will also be able to choose from three Intel CPU configurations: a Core m3, Core i5, or a Core i7. For memory and storage, the Pixelbook Go will have between 8GB and 16GB RAM, and 128GB or 256GB of what we believe is super-fast NVMe SSD storage.
Moreover, the alleged Pixelbook Go is expected to have “much more powerful speakers” than the original Pixelbook. In this case, it will reportedly inherit the Pixel Slate’s dual front microphones, Titan-C security chip, plus the same Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module. For I/O ports, the Pixelbook Go is expected to have USB-C ports on each side of the notebook. Oh, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the subject of the chassis, the Pixelbook will be made out of a magnesium alloy body, with currently rumoured to have two colour choices: Just Black and Not-Pink. Unsurprising, there’s still pricing available, but 9to5Google says that the price could be comparable to the original Pixelbook and Pixel Slate. And cost upwards of US$799 (~RM3,337) at launch. Once again, everything written here thus far are based on rumours, and there’s still a possibility that Google may change some specifications on the Pixelbook Go. Even the name may not be called that, so until Google makes its announcement next month, it would be best to take this news with a liberal sprinkling of salt.
