ORIGINAL STORY (11:44 AM): A new set of deals for unifi plans has appeared online which provides fibre service for as low as RM 39 per month. As a comparison, the lowest monthly fee for a standard unifi plan is currently listed at RM 79 for 30Mbps with 60GB monthly quota. Under the said deal, customers can obtain the unifi 100Mbps plan with a starting price of RM 79 per month as opposed to its standard price of RM 129. Similarly, the 300Mbps plan is being offered at RM 149 per month which is RM 50 less than the plan’s standard monthly fee of RM 199. First reported by Pokde, the promo was originally posted by forumer Rainings inside the unifi thread of the Networks and Broadband section in Lowyat.NET Forums:
Judging by the poster and also the fact that this deal was not widely announced by TM, it seems likely that it is being offered to selected customers. In fact, it reminded us of the highly targeted promo for unifi Lite 10Mbps back in 2017. However, judging from the header of the poster which stated “we miss being the bridge that keeps you connected” and also the part where it said “come back“, it seems quite possible that this promo is meant to attract unifi’s ex-customers rather than new users. Meanwhile, we have since reached out to TM to obtain further clarifications regarding this promo. We’ll keep you posted once we receive more updates, so stay tuned. UPDATE (2:05 PM): Twitter user @mAAdJimi has shared his conversation with unifi’s customer support which has confirmed that the deal above is meant for customers of other broadband services:
— JimiboiTV (@mAAdJimi) June 2, 2020 This pretty much explained why the deal was not publicly announced by TM. Meanwhile, we still have not received a response from the company for the time being. We’ll keep you posted once that happens.
