The promotional video of the WF-1000XM4 was recently leaked through a Sony subreddit and it’s clearly meant for the Dutch market. Aside from earbuds’ new, compact design, we can at least make out some additional details from the video. For starters, each earbud is fitted with Sony’s V1 integrated processor, along with “new drivers”, but does not specify any further details about it. Since they are a pair of Sony audio devices, the WF-1000XM4 will support the brand’s DSEE Extreme and Hi-Res Audio technology. The video also shows that the earbuds retain the Adaptive Sound Control feature but unlike the WF-1000XM3, Speak-To-Chat support is now present. Interestingly, the video also shows that the new earbuds have also been fitted with Bone Conduction Technology.
Additionally, Sony seems to be keeping its promise of better battery life with the WF-1000XM4; the video claims that Sony has increased endurance from six hours to eight hours, while the charging case stores an additional 24 hours, or three charges. More importantly, the video also confirms the case’s support for wireless charging. The only thing we don’t know at this immediate moment is, of course, the exact launch date and official pricing. In regards to the latter, and if we were to make an assumption based on Sony’s marketing habits, the WF-1000XM4 could retail around the same price as its predecessor at launch, which was RM949.
