Zulkarnain Mohd Yasin, Chief Officer Network Security and Enforcement of MCMC, said, “We want service providers to deliver superior customer service and we are determined to ensure that they don’t fall short.”
The offences for the compounds issued include failure to comply with the Mandatory Standard of Quality of Service in Network and Customer Services. As well as failure to deal reasonably with consumers and adequately address consumer complaints. The commission also mentions that throughout 2018, a total of 77 compounds adding up to RM3 million were issued to telcos for various other offences. Hopefully, with the MCMC breathing down the necks of the telcos, we’ll be having less internet connectivity-related trouble, and an easier time voicing out issues we face. (Source: MCMC)
