According to the brief statement on its official website, the national carrier still allows users to bring the MacBook Pro into aircraft as carry-on luggage though. As for customers that already changed the battery on their affected unit, they must present documentation or receipt that proved the exchange have been done.

— Malaysia Airlines (@MAS) September 3, 2019   Prior to this, other Malaysian carriers such as Air Asia and Malindo Air has issued a similar ban to its customers as well. However, both airlines pretty much restricted the affected MacBook Pro from being carried into their flights regardless of whether as checked or carry-on items. With that, do check out the status of your MacBook Pro on Apple Malaysia’s website to see if you are affected. If the answer is yes, then get the battery replaced (and peace of mind) for free.
