As a refresher, the Puricare mask is equipped with a pair of battery-powered fans, which also feature sensors that automatically adjust the fans’ speed according to your breathing. Located behind each fan are slide-out compartments that house replaceable H13 HEPA medical-grade air filters that are capable of removing all particles of 0.21 microns and larger with 99.95% efficiency. Also located behind the mask is a replaceable inner cover. Weight-wise, LG claims that the Puricare comes in at only 94g.
The onboard LG VoiceON feature relies on built-in microphones to detect the user’s voice and amplify it through external speakers. This apparently remedies a major flaw from the initial version of the Puricare mask, where it has been reported to have significantly muffled the wearer’s speech. A similar solution is also featured on Razer’s upcoming Zephyr face mask.
Battery-wise, the wearable air purifier comes with a capacity of 1,000mAh that is claimed to offer usage of up to 8 hours on a single charge. Included together with the mask are two pieces of HEPA H13 filters, 15 pieces of its inner cover, ear strap, strap extender, charging cable, and a portable pouch. LG also noted that it will release a companion mobile app in the upcoming fourth quarter of 2021, which will connect to the mask via Bluetooth. This will allow users to track their breathing, as well as intuitively manage the device wirelessly from a smartphone.
As a special pre-order promotion, the new LG Puricare Wearable Air Purifier mask is offered at RM749 as a Starter Package, which includes a free inner cover. Alternatively, you may also opt for the Couple Package at RM1,498 which comes with two units of the mask, along with two additional inner covers and two HEPA H13 filters. Outside of the promotion, the Puricare will then retail at RM849 on its own, RM902 as a Starter Package, and RM1,910 when bought as a Couple Package.
