Starting today, customers can start buying ETS and Intercity tickets for travel from 1 July all the way to 31 December based on the existing schedules. As noted by KTMB, some notable public holidays coming up that you should start planning for include Hari Raya Haji, Malaysia Day, Deepavali, and Christmas. The ETS will operate 32 services including 10 services from KL Sentral to Butterworth, 10 to Ipoh, eight to Padang Besar, two between Gemas and Butterworth, and two between Gemas and Padang Besar. On the other hand, KTM Intercity will run 22 services made up of two Ekspres Timuran services, six Ekspres Selatan, and 14 Shuttle Timuran. The Ekspres Rakyat Timuran will be operating again starting 1 July from Johor Bahru Sentral to Tumpat, as well as the Ekspres Selatan from JB Sentral to Gemas. This is because the route from Kempas Baru to JB Sentral has been closed for the double-track upgrade project. To get more information, you can check out KTMB’s full schedules for all its train services on its website. With the country reopening its borders, the company expects an increase in tourists by year-end, so group CEO Mohd Rani Hisham Samsudin advises the public to plan ahead. The tickets can be purchased from the KTMB website, the KTMB Mobile app, ticket counters, and ticket vending machines. Travellers can get a one-time RM15 discount by using the promo code CUTIKERETAPI2 from now until 30 November. If you are buying for four people or more, you can use the Keluarga Malaysia Package to get a 25% discount on your entire transaction. (Source: KTMB/ Facebook)
