The site is, naturally, written in Chinese, but based on the translations, Intel says that it intends to debut the Xe graphics card sometime in 2020. Additionally, the card’s GPU will be based on the 10nm FinFET process, while it plans to use the 7nm fabrication process for the 2nd generation of Xe. Further, it is reported that the 2nd generation Xe GPU will be when Intel intends to bake ray-tracing into its cards on a hardware level. It’s also been reported that the Xe will support Intel’s own integer scaling process; an upscaling technique that allows GPUs to retain clarity and sharpness, without sacrificing the original resolution of the pixel.
On the aesthetic sides, the video render shows a graphics card sporting a three-fan setup for cooling, three DisplayPorts and a HDMI port at the back, a backplate with a cutout where the GPU is, two 8-pin PCIe power connectors, and LEDs both at the front and back. Peppered with accents of Intel’s iconic blue colour. Beyond that, there’s still no information about the card’s actual performance. For that, we’re just going to have to wait until next year to find out. (Source: Weibo via Notebookcheck // Image: Intel China)
