The supposed image of the Alder Lake-S CPU was first posted on Videocardz and shows all 1700 contact pads of the processor. For comparison, the leaked image of the CPU can be seen next to the currently 10th generation Comet Lake-S desktop CPUs. The Alder Lake-S is visibly taller and slightly slimmer than its LGA1200 counterpart, its specific measurements being 37.5mm x 45mm. Sadly, there’s no information about the specifications on this Alder Lake-S CPU, save for what we already know through earlier reports. At launch, the new CPU is expected to be based on Intel’s new 10nm SuperFIN die lithography that was first introduced with the semiconductor maker’s Tiger Lake mobile processors. Additional rumours also seem to suggest that Alder Lake-S could be when Intel plans on introducing support for the new DDR5 memory format and maybe even the adoption of PCIe 5.0, neither of which have officially been confirmed. If true, though, it would certainly explain the logic behind Intel’s desire for a new LGA1700 socket. (Source: Videocardz)
