The full name of FAU-G is Fearless And United Guards, made by an Indian startup called nCore Games. The devs describe it as a “new multiplayer mid-core game”. It’s also supposedly based on real scenarios faced by Indian soldiers in the Galwan Valley, at the Indo-China border. Development of FAU-G likely started shortly after the mass banning of Chinese apps by India. TNW reports that following the ban wave, Indian prime minister Narendra Modi announced a challenge for local devs to make apps under the name Atma Nirbhar Bharat (Self-dependant India) banner.

And you don’t have to be cynical to see FAU-G as a PUBG replacement. Which is odd as China itself has a PUBG replacement called Game For Peace. But as for FAU-G itself, it remains to be seen if it really is something new as its devs claimed, or if it’s really a PUBG clone to replace the banned version.
