However, this news still comes as a major, major shocker. The Hollywood Reporter has reported that the Marvel Studios chief, Kevin Feige is going to be developing a Star Wars movie. This is all part of Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy’s plans of ushering in a new wave of Star Wars movies after the Skywalker saga comes to a close this December. Sources tell THR that talks of Kevin Feige venturing into the galaxy far far away has been going on for a while now, since the late summer in fact, where Feige had a meeting with Kathleen Kennedy and Walt Disney co-chairmen Alan Horn & Alan Bergman. When asked by THR, Horn had this to say: This has, of course, led to industry-wide speculations and discussions on whether or not Feige will have a bigger role to play at Lucasfilm in the coming years. Some believe that Feige could even be stepping in to take over the reins of the entire ship from Kathleen Kennedy. Others have wondered if this would mean Feige stepping away from the MCU — a mind-boggling notion if you ask me. However, a top Disney source has made it clear that Kennedy will, in fact, remain in charge with no plans for any changes whatsoever. This would mean that Feige would still remain captain of Marvel Studios, while just dipping his toes in the Star Wars universe. It’s still unclear as of now as to what ideas Feige has brewing in his mind nor which director and writer he intends to pull in to bring his idea to life.
