Customers only need to scan the QR code on the table, where a menu will pop-up and the order is sent to the restaurant’s GrabMerchant app. Users can choose to pay using GrabPay, debit/credit cards, or even cash.
Scan To Order touts the ability to provide a contactless dine-in experience, as well as allowing merchants to hire more deaf workers. To further help customers communicate with deaf F&B employees, Grab is also providing a basic sign language dictionary on the app’s homepage. The QR code stickers are provided by Grab, and merchants who are chosen to participate in the pilot phase of the equal opportunity campaign will receive a three month duration job coaching to communicate with deaf talent, whom are trained by MFD.
