According to Android Police, Driving Mode technically allows users to capture Street View imagery data, without the need for a 360-degree camera installed in their device. In addition, the mode may also blur faces and car license plate to preserve the privacy of the individuals caught on camera. That said, there is still no word on how Google plans to improve the quality of the Street View data contributed from different devices. One again, seeing that the Driving Mode feature is currently being tested right now, there’s no indication when Google will introduce the feature to the app. Until then, we’ll just have to be patient.
