Business Insider reports that Google has stopped the production of two unreleased tablets. These were supposed to be devices smaller than the 12.3-inch Pixel Slate. Both were supposed to be released after 2019. But when quality assurance testing didn’t meet the company’s standards, Google decided to scrap them, along with its entire tablet production line.

A spokesperson for the company also said that the Pixel Slate itself will not have a successor, as a result. With that, the Google Create division will now be focusing entirely on laptops. And with the new focus, the company will reportedly be announcing new laptops this year. Despite scrapping the development of tablets, the company will continue to support the Pixel Slate. Its Chrome OS is also here to stay, and will continue to be the operating system that Google’s laptops, both existing and upcoming, run on. (Source: Business Insider)
