In addition to having a single-player mode, Moviegoers will also be able to test their zombie shooting skills with other players via the VAR BOX’s online multiplayer mode. In-game, players can choose from six mini-games mode including Battle Arena, Hostage Rescue and Shooting Range.

Specs-wise, VAR Live’s developers told us that the VAR BOX sports an Intel Core i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 beneath the hood. In terms of accessories, the VAR BOX comes bundled with an Oculus Rift VR Headset and Touch controller fitted on a 3D printed “somatosensory” gun. The Zombieland: Double Tap VR game costs RM10 per game. Moviegoers can purchase credits via GSC’s e-kiosk that in turn, will be reflected in the VAR Live app. Once the purchase is finalised, players can head over to the VAR BOX to scan the QR code from the app to start playing.

The VAR Boxes will be available in GSC theatres at EkoCheras, Melawati Mall and SetiaCity Mall. GSC also mentioned that it plans to expand the VAR BOX experience in other locations, including 1 Utama, Southkey JB, Gurney Plaza and also at Suria Sabah in East Malaysia.
