One of the major upgrades that Garmin has implemented on the Venu Sq 2 released is the 1.41-inch AMOLED touch display, which is notably better than the 1.3-inch LCD display found on the predecessors. The watches are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and surrounded by an aluminium bezel while they are also rated for water resistance up to 5 ATM, allowing you to swim without having to take off the devices. Alongside built-in support for GPS, GLONASS and Galileo satellite positioning systems, the new series also has over 25 sports modes to track your workouts and a coaching app to recommend training plans. Health-wise, the square-shaped fitness watches feature all kinds of sensors for monitoring your heart rate, sleep, stress, and blood oxygen saturation, as well as other health features such as menstrual cycle tracking. The battery on Garmin’s new watches has been vastly improved compared to the original lineup, lasting up to 11 days with standard use and up to 26 hours when using the GPS. The series is also able to keep 200 hours of activity data and while connected to your phone, the devices can be used to find your phone, receive notifications, and control playback on your smartphone. Available in three colourways each, the Garmin Venu Sq 2 and Venu Sq 2 Music Edition retails for US$249.99 (~RM1,120) and US$299.99 (~RM1,345) respectively which is a whole US$50 more than the previous models. The company has not yet announced pricing or availability for the Malaysian market. (Source: Garmin)
