According to SlashGear, The Wall Street Journal reports that Epic Games is looking to sell Android apps at some point in 2019. The company plans to retain the 88/12 revenue share ratio of its PC games store. Beyond that though, details are still vague. Both Apple and Google also uses the 70/30 split as Steam does. Epic Games’ store may either shift some developers away from Google’s platform, or force Google to change its revenue share ratio. Unfortunately, Apple’s control over iOS apps will likely remain unchallenged.

While Epic Games’ runaway success title Fortnite may have managed to get to its Android base without the Google Play Store, iOS users still had to go through the App Store gate. It’s unlikely that Apple will allow another app store to intrude upon its ecosystem. (Source: Wall Street Journal via SlashGear)
