The South African director announced that he recently became a part of the Germany-based studio, Gunzilla Games, and jumped into the role of Chief Visionary Officer. In addition, Blomkamp said in an interview with IGN that he intends to bring his “directorial skills” that he uses in his films and apply them to the game’s aesthetics. Blomkamp says that his first shooter title will be projected in a futuristic, science fiction world. Unsurprisingly, it’s a genre that is clearly right up his alley. It should be noted that while this is Blonkamp’s first time making a video game, he actually had a hand in directing Conviction, a short movie for EA’s now dead-in-the-water online multiplayer title, Anthem.
