TechCrunch checked with web monitoring site DownDetector, and found that a vast majority of problems faced by users relate to video streaming. Unfortunately, there are a number of users who had login related issues as well. The problems don’t end there either. Frustrated users who decided to go to customer service were also unable to reach anyone due to the queue. Not that talking to someone in customer service will fix an overloaded service.

There’s an entire Reddit thread (linked below) of people sharing their experiences. These range from subtitles being so high up they’re off-screen, to being able to stream on mobile data but not WiFi For what it’s worth, the company says it’s working quickly to fix the situation. A company spokesperson said “the consumer demand for Disney Plus has exceeded our high expectations. We are pleased by this incredible response and are working to quickly resolve the current user issue.”
The statement makes it sound like the company wasn’t expecting this many people to be interested in Disney Plus. This is odd, considering The Mandalorian, Star Wars’ first live-action series, is an exclusive on the platform. (Source: TechCrunch, Reddit)
