According to the Japanese site, AndroidNext, the phone’s main camera will house a quad-camera module, comprising 64MP f/1.7 sensor, a 12MP f/1.5 sensor, a 12MP f/3.4 ultra-wide, and a 2MP ToF (Time of Flight). Additionally, the site also alleges a periscope and OIS module. What is interesting here is that the main camera sensor here isn’t the 64MP sensor, but one of the 12MP sensors.

Considering the setup, GSMArena believes that the 64MP sensor may be relegated towards macro and short telephoto photography instances, the latter being an improved function for a high-resolution camera sensor. For context, phones fitted with high-resolution sensors – in this case, 48MP or higher – are incapable of being used with a phone’s zoom function. Unfortunately, beyond these little details, information about the rest of the phone is still scarce. To date, rumours suggest that the Xperia 1.1 may end up being powered by either a Snapdragon 865 or Snapdragon 765G. Additionally, there is a possibility that the phone could support 5G connectivity, which would make it the first Xperia device to do so.

In any case, this is all just hearsay for now, so until Sony makes an official announcement, take this news with a large grain of salt. (Source: AndroidNext via GSMArena)
