Thoman and two other co-founders calls their studio PH3 Games. The name was chosen because it’s “somewhat pronounceable” in English as well as German, and also because all three co-founders have a PhD. The venture has been reportedly around since September last year, but that it’s finally gotten the paperwork sorted out with the government of Austria, where the studio is based.

For those who are unfamiliar, the first Dark Souls game on PC was infamous for being a pretty buggy port. To that end, Thoman’s DSfix became kind of a must-have mod to properly play the game on PC. He also had a hand in the PC port of The Legends of Heroes Trails of Cold Steel. Thoman says via the Metacouncil forum that the studio will be primarily focused on making high-quality ports of other games to PC. That said, Eurogamer reports that they would like to eventually develop their own game. (Source: PH3, Metacouncil via Eurogamer)
