Just like Sabah that will be going through state-wide CMCO starting from tonight, the decision was taken due to the increase of positive COVID-19 cases throughout Klang Valley. The implementation in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, and Putrajaya will last for two weeks and will conclude on Tuesday, 27 October. During this period, inter-district travelling will be prohibited. All nurseries, kindergartens, schools, higher & vocational education institutions, public parks, recreational centres, entertainment centres, and night clubs have to be closed during the CMCO period. All houses of worship regardless of religion will not be allowed to be opened. Furthermore, all sports, recreational, social, and cultural activities including wedding ceremonies will be prohibited too. Not to forget, only 2 people from each household are allowed to go out and purchase essential supplies. However, the travel restriction does not apply to those who own a work pass or letter of authorisation from their employers. Furthermore, all economic activities within these three states are still being allowed to take place as usual. While the exact scope of inter-district travel was not clearly defined by Minister Ismail in his announcement today, he stated that the detailed standard operating procedures (SOP) for Klang Valley’s CMCO will be provided by the National Security Council website very soon. The recent spike of positive COVID-19 cases in our country as of late once again showed that we are still nowhere near the end of our fight against the deadly virus. We are urging everyone to maintain good personal hygiene and please wear your face mask as well as practice social distancing when you out of your home.
