Announced through a Facebook post, Astro didn’t reveal a lot of details regarding the trial programme. The company said that the programme will involve 300 customers but didn’t say whether you need to be existing or new customers. The post also didn’t mention if you need to have or sign up for a specific subscription plan in order to participate in the trial although it did list the Super Pack Lite Sports as the recommended package. Astro also said that the Ultra Plug & Play Box will be delivered directly to customers and they will be provided with Astro GO access, while waiting for the box to arrive. When it comes to connectivity requirement, Astro has listed 30Mbps as the minimum Internet speed for the new Ultra Plug & Play Box. As a comparison, the existing Astro Ultra Box which still utilises satellite for content feeds requires at least 10Mbps. As opposed to other trial programmes that Astro has organised before, there is no website for the Ultra Plug & Play Box trial at the moment. Those who are interested to sign up, have to do so by contacting Astro’s official WhatsApp account or phone line. (Source: Astro.)
