Starting with the outside, the iPhone 11 sports a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina Display that Apple says is an advanced LCD panel with True Tone. On that note, the display also has a wide colour gamut that will, in practice, provide greater colour accuracy when reviewing videos or images on the phone.

Underneath the hood, the iPhone 11 is powered by Apple’s new A13 Bionic chipset, which Apple insists is not just more powerful than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 SoC, but also its own A12 Bionic chipset. It’s a bold claim, but to be honest, we’re curious as to what benchmark Apple was using when comparing its new chipset to the competition. Moving on, the iPhone 11 features a new dual-camera setup for its main module. It comprises a 12MP f/1.8 wide and 12MP f.24 ultra-wide sensors, and as you can imagine, the addition of the latter sensor now offers users the ability to capture ultra-wide shots. Oh, and before we forget, Apple has also improved the Night Mode function on the iPhone 11, thanks to the use of AI algorithm.

Video is yet another prominent feature for the iPhone 11. The phone is capable of recording 4K videos and 60 fps. As an extra added bonus, the new camera UI is now has a quick recording function; you simply press and hold the capture button, and the phone automatically begins the video recording process. TrueDepth camera at the front of the iPhone 11 has been given some upgrades, the most prominent feature and improvement being the ability to record slow-motion selfies. And while it didn’t go into too much detail, it’s also got an improved and much faster Face Unlock function that the iPhone XR.

The new iPhone 11 will retail in the US for US$699 (~RM2912), with pre-orders starting this Saturday (Friday in the US). As of this publication, there is still no local availability or pricing for the iPhone 11. As mentioned by Tim Cook, CEO at Apple, consumers who purchase the iPhone 11 will get a free 1-year subscription to Apple TV+.
