To recap, the 3950X is AMD’s fastest and most powerful CPU, sporting a 16-cores, 32-thread layout. Just like all other 3rd generation Ryzen processor, the 3950X is built on a 7nm die lithography that in turn, is based on AMD’s Zen 2 CPU architecture.
As mentioned in previous reports, the 3950X has a base clock of 3.5GHz and a maximum boost clock speed of 4.7GHz. Additionally, the processor a combined L2 and L3 cache size of 72MB, and a TDP of 105W. Just like the Ryzen 9 3900X. In terms of performance, AMD says that the 3950X is on par, if not faster than Intel’s Core i9-9900K. Moreover, the CPU also boasts a 27% increase in creator-based performance when compared to Intel’s own 16-core CPU, the Core i9-9920X.
In regards to its price, the Ryzen 9 3950X will retail for US$749 (~RM3088). Like most high-end Ryzen CPUs, AMD is recommending that enthusiast intending to pick up a CPU to also pair it with an AiO cooler to ensure optimal performance.
