The latest details of the DG2 GPU was first posted on Twitter by prominent leakster APISAK (@TUM_APISAK), who alleges that, based on the information he received, Intel’s GPU is expected to be more or less on par with NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 3070 and AMD’s Radeon RX 6700XT graphics card. On top of that, APISAK also revealed that Intel apparently has a DG2 variant with 448 Execution Units (EU), on top of the previously reported 512 EU and 384 EU variants. In addition to the new EU variant, APISAK also says that that particular SKU will be clocked at 1.8GHz, which puts it behind the RTX 3070 by approximately 5%. At the same time, there is also mention of a 128EU variant of the DG2 with what we’re assuming is a game clock of 1.9GHz. It’s clear that this variant is aimed towards the entry-level GPU market and is more in line with a GeForce GTX 1650.

As it is, we already know that the 512 EU variant should have both a 16GB GDDR6 and 8GB GDDR6 variant, along with up to 4096 shading units. Again, the only detail missing from the equation is an actual launch date; considering the chip shortage and ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it has been speculated that Intel may only launch it next year.
