With the new ISOCELL JN1, Samsung has reduced the size of a single pixel down to 0.64 micrometres. Smaller pixels may, as mentioned, mean smaller camera modules on phones. That, or it will allow for other camera modules like telephoto or ultrawide cameras without making the camera bump bigger. This versatility will allow these supplementary cameras to have the same high resolution as the main camera. But you might think that smaller pixels would reduce image quality, especially where brightness and exposure is concerned....

The dimensions of the fp measures in at 112.6 x 69.9 x 45.3mm. So what does the Sony Vision-S come with? To start, it has 33 sensors, which consist of CMOS image sensors and ToF sensors. This helps the car detect and recognise people as well as objects inside and outside of the car. These are usually the kind of sensors you’d expect from a self driving car. Sony also says that there’s a panoramic screen where you’d expect to find the dashboard....

Twitter user @Nibellion shared a now deleted tweet by PlayStation Japan that made a slightly different acquisition announcement. The image shows PlayStation Studios welcoming Bluepoint Games instead of Housemarque. This is likely something that’s still being discussed behind the scenes, and is supposed to be announced at a later date. The image sees a strip of the Demon Souls remake cover next to Returnal, indicating that the addition of the studio comes after Housemarque....

Spotted by SegmentNext, the Sony patent actually has a security purpose in mind. It describes using motion sensors to identify specific patterns or ways a controller is picked up. And it will log the user into the console based on the way you pick it up, as opposed maybe a housemate or family member. From a security perspective, this prevents having you sign into your PSN account and typing in your password while other eyes are present....

In fact, you might even have received the cloud storage bump from 10GB to 100GB as we have confirmed with PlayStation Asia’s rep that the company has rolled out the upgrade since yesterday. VGC reports that SIE is still negotiating with Tobii for the latter to be the eye-tracking tech provider for the PS VR 2. The Swedish company also says that it is “not commenting on the financial impact of the deal” while the negotiation is still ongoing. This may explain why despite the announcement, SIE has no details to share about the PS VR 2 beyond name and specs. If it has not finalised where to get eye-tracking tech from, then it’s no real surprise that the company cannot reveal a release date....

Though according to the official announcement, it won’t be as simple as signing into your Spotify account and listening to an audiobook. You will still need a Storytel account, and you’ll have to link that to your Spotify account. Only then will you be able to stream audiobooks via the music streaming platform. There is also no date as to when this will go live. The company says this will become possible later in 2021, but that’s about it....
