French tech website Les Numériques reports that tearing down its PS5 review unit shows a fan with 23 blades. Upon purchasing a retail console off a store shows that it has 17 blades instead. Acquiring three more of the consoles ends up revealing three more different fans. While this sort of explains the noisy PS5 situation, it’s not a nice answer. Generally, fans with more blades perform more efficiently, which means they can operate more quietly....

Claimed to be the world’s first Wi-Fi 7 commercial solution, the new FastConnect 7800 chip supports Wi-Fi 7 multi-link operations including the High Band Simultaneous Multi-Link that allows the combined usage of two Wi-Fi radios in 5 or 6GHz spectrums to deliver one massive data pipe. In terms of performance, Qualcomm said that the chip can deliver a peak speed of up to 5.8Gbps through a single 320Mhz or paired 160MHz channel....

Starting with the 8+ Gen1 and as the follow-up act to its similarly named predecessor, the chipset comes with all of the fixtures and fittings one would expect from a high-end and premium-tier SoC, but clearly at more efficient and faster speeds. On paper, we’re looking at up to 10% faster speeds with almost 30% power reduction, and that’s just in gaming scenarios. Specs-wise, the 8+ Gen1 retains Qualcomm’s chipset, dubbed the Artificial Intelligence Engine (AIE)....

The Razer Basilisk currently also has a 10% discount, to make the deal even more appealing. Originally priced at RM299, the Razer Basilisk is now a three-year old mouse with its own wireless and Essential variations. It’s still a pretty good gaming mouse, even if you can find mice with newer tech within the brand itself....

Streamers can have it display emotes when someone subscribes, donates, thanks them, or basically any other on-stream event. At launch, the Seiren Emote has over 100 preset emotes, including both static and animated ones. Streamers can use the Razer Streamer Companion App to customise emotes that pop up based on events that occur, as well as upload their own static or animated emote....

To start, the Nubia Red Magic 5S comes with a 6.65-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. This comes with 144Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate, numbers that go well with a gaming phone. There’s also an in-display optical fingerprint sensor. It also has a pair of shoulder keys, which the company claims has a 320Hz touch sampling rate, which is a small 20Hz improvement over the Red Magic 5G....

For the 60th anniversary of its classic Renault 4 hatchback, the company has decided to celebrate the occasion a couple of steps higher. Almost literally too. Teaming up with Miami-based design firm TheArsenale, the automaker has unveiled the Air4, which is basically a Renault 4 reimagined as an actual flying car (or “showcar”, as Renault calls it). While it does sport most of the car’s original design, the Air4 is actually scratch built from carbon fibre....

In Riot Games’ YouTube video, the game developer announced that Wild Rift will be similar to the PC version, but will have some of its gameplay mechanics tweaked to accommodate versatility on the two platforms. Specifically, Riot added the familiar touch stick for your “Champions” control and side buttons for casting skills. Wild Rift matches will also run shorter compared to the original LoL on PC, ranging from 15 to 20 minutes....

According to Krebs on Security, it was the Russian Federal Penitentiary Service that announced last month that it would make use of incarcerated IT Specialists. Technically speaking, these IT-savvy inmates would be working under forced labour rules, serving as remote workers for Russian commercial companies. The Russian Association for Electronic Communications (RAEC) estimates between 70000 and 100000 IT Specialists have left Russia or are leaving the country for better positions, in countries such as the US, Germany, Georgia, Cyprus, and Canada....

Some things like credit card numbers and social security numbers were not affected, the latter being especially important to people in the US since it’s effectively their national ID. But Samsung says other details like name, contact and demographic details, date of birth and product registration data were compromised. The company did not disclose the exact number of affected individuals. This would be the second time Samsung found itself a victim of security breaches within this year....

The FCC filings are a necessary submission for any company that wish to market their devices in the US. In this case, the filings include a chart that shows the connectivity difference between three different Galaxy S10 models; The Galaxy S10+ (SM-G975U), Galaxy S10 (SM-G973U), and a Galaxy S10e (SM-G970U). In regards to the latter model, it’s likely that the Galaxy S10e is going to be a more affordable version of the other two, and will only feature a dual main camera instead of the triple camera array that was initially reported....
