Users in Reddit have noticed that the beta program allowed them to use the iris scanner with other apps that also use Android 10’s biometrics system. Prior to this, Samsung’s iris scanners mainly worked to unlock the phone or in other Samsung-specific features. Now, it’s a lot more general purpose, which may see increased use of the feature. The company typically unveils the latest entry to its flagship smartphone model in late September every year, which would then be shipped within the month itself. However, Apple CFO Luca Maestri said in an earnings call with investors on 31 July that it wouldn’t be the case for this year. Maestri did not reveal the cause of the iPhone 12 supply being delayed or constrained. The patent is titled “Enabling Interactive Service for Cloud Rendering Gaming in 5G Systems”. Originally filed in February, it was only published quite recently. The Apple patent describes something that actually sounds a lot like Google Stadia. AppleInsider spotted a patent granted to Apple published in the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) indicating this. As optical switches, the keyboard will be using light emitters and sensors. Key presses are registered when the key itself is pressed down, blocking the light from reaching the sensor. This is similar to the way the new Razer Viper‘s optical switches work. Another implementation has the sensor detect change in the amount of light hitting the sensor, rather than just if the light is blocked....

Rumours of the Noctua-themed ASUS RTX 40 Series card first appeared from the Chinese tech forum Chiphell and more specifically, by one of its editors who goes by the handle “Napoleon”. One particular detail that isn’t confirmed is which model ASUS will be using as its focus. As implied, this isn’t the first time ASUS and Noctua have taken custom-cooling with an NVIDIA card to another level before.
