The Vibes reports that recent air fares have been high partially due to high air fuel prices. Also contributing to the high prices in recent times is the fact that many airlines’ planes are still being sent for maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO). This is a mandatory three-month process for planes that were left unused for extended periods of time. Which, as you’d expect, the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions during that time would constitute as....

In a statement to reporters yesterday, Wee explained that airline fares would normally increase according to the Dynamic Price Mechanism if there are events involving a large number of passenger movements, such as holidays and so on. Naturally, the earlier the ticket is booked, the cheaper it is and the closer to a date or event, the price will be higher. However, the minister assured that MAVCOM would take action if airlines are found to have raised prices against the set conditions....

The official post on the matter goes into a bit more detail, but the major takeaway here is that tweets can only be edited within the first 30 minutes after tweeting. These edited tweets will also come with an icon and a label to indicate the fact, as well as a timestamp to tell when it happened. Hitting said label will show other users the edit history, revealing what the original tweet was before it was edited....

To quickly recap, this Twitter feature makes it so that whenever you tweet, you have to choose one of three options. The first is to allow everyone to reply. The other two option limits it to only people you follow, or only people you mention. If you’ve chosen one of the latter options, those who are not eligible to be part of the conversation will have the reply option greyed out....

The report came via the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), with sources to Reuters corroborating the reports. According to the latter, it was Twitter that approached ByteDance to express interest in the deal. Despite the social media company also wanting to buy the popular video app, it remains to be seen if it can afford to do so. So far, it looks like Microsoft is still seen as the more likely company to come to a deal for the TikTok acquisition....

According to NDTV and 91mobiles, the CPH2015 is speculated to be either the Reno S or A31 – the latter is not to be confused with another OPPO phone with the same name released back in 2015. NDTV speculates that the phone – as the Reno S – is equipped with a notched display, a Snapdragon 855+ SoC, and features a 64MP main camera. Whereas, 91mobiles suggests that it may be the OPPO A31 which features either a MediaTek Helio P70 or P60, and is powered by a 4230mAh battery....

PC Gamer reports that while Ubisoft is committed to delivering the titles on time, the company had a precautionary step in case it fails. This came in the form of including a range of financial targets for the next fiscal year. The COVID-19 pandemic was pegged as the reason behind the potential delay. The number of games that Ubisoft previously announced were Watch Dogs: Legion, Gods & Monsters, and Rainbow Six: Quarantine....

According to Reuters, the new bill – should it become law – proposes a fine of US$1 million per day for violations against tech giants that create, keep, and promote the use of their digital currency. The bill specifies that “a large platform utility may not establish, maintain, or operate a digital asset that is intended to be widely used a medium of exchange, unit of account, store of value, or any other similar function, as defined by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System”....

Earlier this month, we reported that there was a possibility that a tariff exclusion on certain Chinese goods years ago, would be expiring at the end of the year and that the USTR could simply let it lapse. At the time, one of the biggest fears of letting that happen was that it could cause the prices of GPUs and other electronic goods to increase by as much as 25%....

The price that Automattic is paying for the microblogging site is a bit surprising as well; the company is reportedly only paying less than US$3 million (~RM12.58 million) for the site. It’s a shocking drop in value, especially when you recall that Yahoo initially paid US$1.1 billion (~RM4.61 billion) for it back in 2013. What Automattic intends to do with its new acquisition is still a mystery, but the more pressing and obvious question is why the WordPress owner even bought it....

Facebook says that NSO Group had used the Los Angeles-based hosting service, QuadraNet, more than 700 times to infect WhatsApp users with malware. The social media platform says this was crucial, as NSO had initially made claims that it couldn’t run operations within the US. WhatsApp filed its lawsuit against NSO Group back in 2019, after it had discovered the latter’s Pegasus hacking platform. Designed to exploit a flaw within WhatsApp’s server....

Microsoft says that the problem is caused by an expired certificate preventing these features from loading. The expiry date of said certificate was on 31 October. It’s not known if it’s a widespread issue faced by a majority of Windows 11 early adopters, or an unlucky few who lost the software bug lottery. YouTuber Samperson (Sam Chiet) has showcased the humble text editor running Doom at seemingly 60fps. According to the video description, the footage has not been sped up, although there is a cut in the middle, jumping ahead “to some action”. Also claimed in the description is that Notepad itself has not been modified in any way. Whatever program that Samperson is using to get Doom running on Notepad, he claims on Twitter that he will be releasing it in a couple of days....
