Henrik Austad, a Nokia 7 owner was monitoring traffic from his phone. To his surprise, the device was sending unencrypted information to somewhere in China. The information being sent included the device’s location, his phone’s serial number, and SIM card number. According to NRK, Norwegian public broadcaster, the data was sent to a Chinese server under the domain “vnet.cn”. Further investigation revealed that the domain is part of the state-owned telecommunications company, China Telecom....

The HTC U Ear looks pretty much like the Apple AirPods, complete with the stem. One major difference between the HTC and Apple products is that this is coloured black, as opposed to white. The U Ear also looks to have its charging pins at the side of the stem, rather than the bottom. Its box also looks similar, with the same cuboid shape. But rather than opening vertically with a hatch on top, the box of the HTC U Ear opens more like a traditional box, with the buds themselves lying flat inside....

Most of the Mate Xs features seem to be quite identical to its predecessor, the Mate X. For example, the Mate Xs still features an 8-inch 2480 x 2200 display when it is fully unfolded. In the folded position, the screen is then split into a separate 6.6-inch 2480 x 1148 screen on the front and another 6.38-inch 2480 x 892 screen on the phone’s back. That being said, Huawei stated that the display on Mate Xs is much stronger than the Mate X as the company has built the screen using double layer optical polyimide which apparently 80% stronger than a single layer implementation....

According to a Reuters report, the factory is part of a larger US$9.8 billion (~RM40.6 billion) EV deal signed between LG and Indonesia last year. It’s set to be constructed in the city of Bekasi, which lies on the eastern border of Jakarta. Indonesian Investment Minister Bahlil Lahadalia made the announcement, but didn’t specify a time frame except that the plant would be built “in the near future”. “The first phase of construction will have the production capacity of 10 GWh, which will later be used for EVs from Hyundai,” he said....

The Geekbench score of the CPU was first reported by TechQuila, with the alleged Ice Lake CPU running on an unreleased version of a 13-inch HP Spectre X360 2-in-1 convertible. According to Intel’s slides, the Optane Memory H20 uses its parent company’s new and improved 144-layer QLC 3DNAND technology. Just like its predecessor, the H10, the H20 uses an M.2 form factor that in turn combines 32GB of Optane Memory and a storage capacity choice of 512GB or 1TB. Oddly enough, the slides mention that the H20 will have NVMe Gen3 speeds, but neither Intel nor the slides seem to say exactly how fast those speeds are....
According to a diagram leaked to serial leakster, Videocardz, Rocket Lake-S will still be based on the same 14nm die lithography used in Comet Lake-S, but with new and better features. For a start, Rocket Lake-S is expected to support the current PCIe 4.0 interface. Specifically, all Rocket Lake-S CPUs will allegedly have 20 lanes of PCIe 4.0 and primary GPU and NVMe storage will be handled directly from the CPU....
As per its Roadmap, Intel seems intent on making its 3rd generation ARC GPUs, Celestial, will not only be on par with whatever enthusiast-level graphics cards NVIDIA and AMD will have to offer in 2024. To that end, Intel also wants its ARC Celestial cards to cater to the “Ultra Enthusiast” GPU market segment in that same year, and that GPU series is already under “active development”. Understandably, there isn’t a whole lot of detail regarding Celestial, given that Intel still needs to make sure that its Alchemist lineup launches with as few issues as possible....
Apple first announced support for keyboard, mouse and trackpad on iOS games back in WWDC 2020. There have been a number of games that have since started supporting keyboard inputs. But Pascal’s Wager is among the first, if not the very first, to support both keyboard and mouse. Support for the peripheral input comes as part of the Pascal’s Wager 1.6.2 update. The catch is that it needs to be running on iOS 14 or iPadOS 14, or later, in order for the peripheral inputs to work....
